The very aim and objective of the Vaidika Samshodhana Mandala includes to bring out the critical editions of the Vedas for which the collection of manuscripts is utterly important and this am in fact motivated the Vaidika Samshodhana Mandala to collect the manuscripts on Vedas and on related texts from various sources. At present we have 15000+ manuscripts. We have brought 9 catalogues and approximately 12,000 manuscripts are catalogued in those nine volumes. Out of these nine volumes to volumes are based on the collections from Particular donor.  For e.g. Vol. III is Upadhye collection and Vol. No. VII is Deshpande collection. Seven volumes are based on the subjects the tenth the catalogue is in progress and we hope it will see the light of the day soon. Many generous donors who handed over their precious treasure in form of manuscripts to Vaidika Samshodhana Mandala with faith and Mandala being honest to their faith has maintained that repository in very good condition.

Out of the total collection of Vaidika Samshodhana Mandala approximately 80% manuscripts are digitalised and we are still doing the work. There are different types of manuscripts. We have few manuscripts in Granth script. Others are in devnagri. Excluding three to four Palm leaf manuscripts the others are paper manuscripts. The special manuscripts we have displayed and this site also displays those special manuscripts which are either very old one or illustrated.
